Editorial Policy — NicknameDesign
NicknameDesign is a free name design studio for game and social nicknames, and this editorial policy explains how the NicknameDesign Team writes pages, where the game name limits come from, and how results are recorded and rechecked.
Who writes the pages
All pages are written and reviewed by the NicknameDesign Team. We do not use invented authors or credentials.
Where the name limits come from
The limits shown for each game are kept in one place in the studio and edited by hand when we find a change. A limit is a figure on record, not a guarantee, because games change their rules in updates. Every game page says what we have and have not tested.
How a design is checked
Each design is made of Unicode characters. We count its characters from the actual text, compare the count with the limit on record, and show both. We do not use game logos or characters.
How we record whether it works in a game
For each game a design can be recorded as works, rejected, or not tested. A result is recorded only after someone on the team has tried the design in a real account, with the game version, the device and the date. If it has not been tried, the page says not tested instead of guessing.
- Works: the game accepted the name and showed it correctly.
- Rejected: the game refused the name or removed characters.
- Not tested: we have no result, and we do not guess.
Retesting
A recorded result and each limit on record are rechecked when a game releases a new version or a reader reports a change, and at least every 90 days for the most visited pages.
Changelog
Last test date: none yet. As of October 9, 2026 the team has not recorded a test in a game account, so every game shows as not tested. This section will list each test with its date, device, game version and result as soon as one is done.
Corrections
If a limit or a result is wrong, tell us on the contact page. We fix confirmed errors and update the page.
FAQ
Are the name limits official?
No. They are the figures we have on record and they can be out of date.
Do you test every design in every game?
No. We test what we can and mark everything else as not tested.
How often do you update the pages?
When a game releases a new version, when a reader reports a problem, and on a regular schedule for the busiest pages.
